I really want to come back up here in the summer time and take this exact same photo. But I actually think I'm sitting on the ice where I am. This photo is taken at Zimmerman Lake about 10 miles West of Pingree Park in Colorado. I had an awesome opportunity to go on a snowshoeing trip with 11 other year two students for free. The school paid for the trip, all we had to do was show up in winter clothing and get on a CSU van. The trip was a 2.5-3 mile round trip (my GPS died half-way through the hike, so I don't have an actual number)
The views were amazing, and I am so glad I got to go. This place I'm sitting is on the East side of Zimmerman lake, with the lake directly in front of me.
Maybe in the summer I'll make the one and a half hour drive up here and take a hike to this location and take a similar photo.
