Fort Collins Peach Festival 2013
Today was the annual Fort Collins Peach Festival that was actually only about 2 blocks from Katherine's apartment. It was really nice because the parking cost $5 and the admission was free, but since we were parked at her apartment, the whole event was free. It was quite a large turnout, and I was surprised with how many people were actually there. I was, also, extremely disappointed in the lack of peach vendors. There were only a few actual places to buy peaches and one place to get pies. Maybe I'm just spoiled from going to the Lafayette Peach Festival.
Hughes Stadium

Pie Eating Contest #1
There were 2 pie eating contests throughout the day. I signed up for the second one, but my name didn't get drawn. Which is too bad, because that looked like really really really good pie!
Lots of Pie!
There were 2 age groups, 13 and under and 13 and up. This guy was the winner for the 13 and up. The winners god (I believe) a $20 gift card to TCBY - which would have been awesome to win since Katherine and I go there all the time. Too bad I never got picked!

Pie eating Round 2
It was interesting because the second time they did the pie eating contest, they did it differently. Instead of the traditional "whoever finishes their pie first wins", they did a "whoever can eat the most pie during 2 songs wins". It made for ti to be a little quicker.
Fist Full of Crust
Since I didn't get picked to be in the second round of the pie eating contest, I was taking photos. It was really hard to get good photos because everyone was so close to the tables where the contestants were. Anyway, while I was taking photos, one of the people next to me pointed out that this woman was his wife. After the contest was over he asked me to send him some photos. I hope that this photo (or one of the other photos I got of her) ends up in his holiday card to his family and friends.
