The Budweiser Clydesdale's were in town and they were having a photo op day. I was disappointed that the "camera day" meant that you could get a picture of just one of the horses, but I still got a better photo of one of them than inside their stalls.

Denver Science Museum
Katherine and I went down to the Denver Science Museum because it was a free admission day. We only had to pay our ticket into the special exhibit, Beyond the Legends, which is all about the Vikings.

Rocky Mountain National Park
Katherine and I drove up to Rock Mountain National Park. It's only about an hour from our house, so we bought an annual membership. We hiked up to Alberta Falls and on to Mills Lake. The total round trip distance was 5.33 miles, and it was a total elevation gain of 1450ft. It took us just under 3 and a half hours, stopping frequently for photos. Our moving time was actually just over an hour of that 3 and a half hour journey.

Gregory Canyon and Flagstaff Mountain
Katherine and I decided to drive into Boulder for a hike this weekend. Katherine just bought some new hiking boots (so she wouldn't roll her ankle) so we decided to test them out! The hike took up about 2 and a half hours and was a total round trip distance of 4 miles. On the 2 mile journey up, it was 1155 ft of elevation gain. We started down near Chautauqua Park and hiked to the realization point.

Katherine and I went on a hike this morning. We planned it out a few days ago for my birthday weekend. On Saturday, we had plans with my family for dinner to celebrate my birthday. Since we didn't have all day to do a lengthy hike, we picked out our favorite short hike in Loveland, Devil's Backbone. While we were out hiking, my parents and her's were decorating our house for a surprise party for me. I had absolutely no idea that it was coming! Katherine did an excellent job keeping the secret for four weeks. I was startled when we got back from our hike to see our house filled with all our family and friends. It was perfect.
