Denver Comic Con 2013

Katherine and I ventured into Denver to go to the 2013 Denver Comic Con. The second Denver Comic Con and it was PACKED. I have never been at an event with more people before in my life. Katherine and I came to Highlands Ranch for the weekend and took the light rail down to the Convention Center in Denver. That was a good idea because of how many people were there, I don't think that we could have found a place to park! Here are a bunch of photos of the event!

High Point

While I was in Highlands Ranch last weekend, Katherine and I hiked up to "High Point" - Highlands Ranch's highest point. It sounds tough, but it's one of the easiest hikes ever - mostly because highlands ranch is flat. Katherine's parents hiked up with us.

Vietnam Memorial

These photos are a little bit late. I took these over memorial day weekend and never got around to posting them. Basically a traveling vietnam memorial (which is only 20% smaller than the original) came to Fort Collins. They had it up in the park for the entire weekend, accessible 24/7 (with lights and police at night). Katherine and I went there at night and I took photos (while she talked to 3 police officers). I sadly didn't get any good ones...

South Dakota Day 1

Katherine and I left Fort Collins around 8:30 and got to Crazy Horse at 2:30, only taking one stop for lunch. We stopped at Crazy Horse and spent a few hours there. It was pretty cool to go and see. It's the largest monument, although not quite finished - actually, they have a lot more to get done!

Crazy Horse at Night

Every summer night they do a laser show at crazy horse. The weather was looking pretty bad, and it down poured half way through, but I was able to get some pretty good shots!

Mount Rushmore

On our second day in South Dakota, Katherine and I went to Mount Rushmore and Needles State Park. Both of which were really cool. I'll get into the details of needles later. It was a pretty nice day. mostly blue skies with some puffy clouds here and there. It down poured for about 10 minutes at a time every 15 minutes from like 2-4, but it wasn't bad.

1880 Train

On the last day of our vacation in Mount Rushmore we did 3 things: 1880 Train, Wind cave, and drove home. You won't see any pictures of that last one, but here are some of the 1880 train and the Wind caves!

2013 Greek Festival

Katherine and I ventured down to the Greek festival last weekend to check it out. She has gone before and said it was kinda cool to go check out so we did. It was at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in downtown Denver.
