Katherine and I went on a walk today on the Fossil Creek Trail. This is Horsetooth from the trail while we were walking.

In case you missed it, this year's pi day was the best it has been in 100 years. It won't get much better than this. The digits of Pi start with 3.1415926. If I couldn't find a clock with a second hand, otherwise I could have gotten it at 53 seconds. Oh well, maybe next time in 2115.

I was sent to the Chicago Automate show this year to help set up, run, and tear down the booth for the show. We have a perfect spot, directly in the front of the entrance. I spent last Thursday and Friday getting the cell setup, and today was the first day of the show. I took this picture in the morning before everyone came in because there were a ton of sign that said "no photography or video", but after the show started, I knew that wasn't a real expectation. I never get an oportunity to take photos of the stuff that I work on - usually because we need to protect our customers, but since nothing we did has ties to any of our customer parts I have no problem blogging about it.

The conference center we were at, McCormic Place, had 2 shows going on, Automate and ProMat. Where Automate focuses on automating processes of fabrication, ProMat focused on supply chain and distribution of parts. There were a lot of fork lifts and robotic palatalizing there. The ProMat side was a lot bigger and more hectic than the Automate side - but I'm okay with that.
